Yeerung River

Far East Gippsland Catchment Area

The protected and tranquil waters of the Yeerung River are popular with paddlers, walkers, swimmers and fishermen all year round. Yeerung River is not one of East Gippsland's major waterways with the catchment area confined to south of Princes Highway, east of Marlo Road between Cabbage Tree Creek and Cape Conran and west of Sydenham Inlet Road. Below the junction of the East and West Branches the Yeerung River follows a southerly course through Cape Conran Coastal Park to empty into Bass Strait 3 km east of Cape Conran.
