Sydenham
Inlet
Far East Gippsland Catchment Area
Surrounded by forest, the normally shallow estuary, Sydenham Inlet,
shares its western shoreline with
Cape Conran Coastal Park and its eastern shores with
Croajingolong National Park. The township of Bemm River plays host
to an area that is considered by many to be
East Gippsland's
premier bream fishing destination. Sydenham Inlet is fed by the
Bemm River which flows
through dense warm temperate rainforest. The closure of the entrance to the sea
can result in a considerable
rise in water level of Sydenham Inlet.
