Mitchell River Catchment Area

Occupying an area of 545,000 ha, and rising in the southern slopes of the Great Diving Range, in the Alpine Region, the Mitchell River Catchment Area is the westernmost catchment of the East Gippsland region and extends south to the Gippsland Lakes. The Mitchell River Catchment Area includes the Mitchell River and it's tributaries, the Moroka River, Wonnangatta River, Wongungurra River, Crooked River, Dargo River and the Wentworth River, emptying into Lake King. Toms Creek, which collects local water, empties into Lake Victoria.
