Mallacoota
Inlet
Far East Gippsland Catchment Area
Formed by the drowning of the Genoa River
Valley at the end of the last ice age, the Mallacoota Inlet is one of the most scenic
waterways in Australia.
Surrounded by forest and fed by the
Genoa River and
Wallagaraugh River, the large navigable lakes of Mallacoota Inlet and the
many secluded inlets and coves that probe into the surrounding forest make
it an ideal waterway for canoeing, fishing and boating activities. Numerous
public jetties and picnic facilities are located around the shores of
Mallacoota Inlet.
