Lake
Bunga, classified as a freshwater coastal lake, receives local
runoff via Bunga Creek prior to emptying into the South Pacific
Ocean. Situated between the Gippsland Lakes and Lake Tyers, the
protected waters of Lake Bunga provide a popular area for swimming
and paddling. Australia's first oil field was discovered at Lake
Bunga in 1924.
