Lake Bunga

Local Area Catchment

Lake Bunga, classified as a freshwater coastal lake, receives local runoff via Bunga Creek prior to emptying into the South Pacific Ocean. Situated between the Gippsland Lakes and Lake Tyers, the protected waters of Lake Bunga provide a popular area for swimming and paddling. Australia's first oil field was discovered at Lake Bunga in 1924.
