Far East Gippsland Catchment Area

453,000 ha (75%) of the Far East Gippsland Catchment waterways are in East Gippsland. The feature rivers of the Far East Gippsland Catchment include the Bemm River, Cann River, Thurra River, Wingan River and the Genoa River, all of which flow into coastal estuaries, Sydenham Inlet, Tamboon Inlet, Thurra River Inlet, Wingan Inlet and Mallacoota Inlet respectively, before entering the South Pacific Ocean
