Buchan RiverSnowy River Catchment AreaRising in the Buchan Headwater Wilderness Area of the Alpine National Park, the Buchan River joins the Snowy River 7 km east of Buchan. Access to the headwaters of the river are by walking track only. Accessible by 4x4 south of Mt Seldom Seen, the Buchan River offers some reasonable fishing. The Buchan River flows through forest until near Buchan where the river flows though fertile flood plains in the Buchan Valley.
