Approximately 120 roads and tracks in parks and forests throughout East Gippsland are seasonally closed from June to October each year. To protect track surfaces, water quality and the environment and to ensure driver safety, seasonal road closures are made and enforced under the National Parks Act and the Forests Act. The roads to be closed are scheduled each year by Parks Victoria and Department of Sustainability and Environment after consultation with Four Wheel Drive Victoria and other key user groups.
