If going bush into remote areas its a good idea to travel with a second party as well as letting a third party know of your travel intentions - just in case the journey does not go to plan.

Fuel up, carry ample food, water & protective clothing
If 4x4 driving carry sufficient recovery gear for the conditions you might encounter
