State Forests of East Gippsland
Whilst
safeguarding the conservation of flora and fauna, the protection of
landscape, archaeological and historic values, state forests in East Gippsland provide opportunity for a wide range
of activities including camping, picnicking, walking, fishing,
four-wheel driving, canoeing, trail bike and horse riding, hunting,
swimming and much more. Dogs are permitted in East Gippsland's state forests
which are managed by DSE.

in East Gippsland play a key role in safeguarding the
conservation of flora and fauna, the protection of landscape,
archaeological and historic values, the provision of recreational
and educational opportunities, protection of water catchments and
water quality while maintaining a sustainable forest industry providing timber and other forest products.
State forests provide some unique recreation opportunities, often
in a less crowded and less developed settings found in national
parks.
