East Gippsland's Regional Parks
Regional parks play a similar role as state forests and
involve the protection and conservation of native flora, fauna and natural
features with limited exploitation of natural resources, are close to and
readily accessible from urban centres or major tourist routes and are capable
of providing informal recreational opportunities connected with the enjoyment
of the natural surroundings for large numbers of people. Activities within
East Gippsland's regional parks include camping, picnicking, walking, fishing,
four-wheel driving, canoeing, trail bike and horse riding, hunting, swimming
and much more.
