Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail

The disused rail corridor was reopened in 2003 after 3 years of work and included the extension of the track along the Mississippi Creek to meet up with the East Gippsland Rail Trail and surfacing of the path with crushed granite to create a suitable surface for cycling. Commencing at the East Gippsland Rail Trail - Seaton Track junction, the Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail takes Seaton Track then Todd Track to Ford Road and then incorporates the majority of the 13 km of the disused light tram reserve used to transport rock from the Granite Quarry to the head of the North Arm in the early 1900's.
