Beware Reef Marine Sanctuary

Rising sharply from the seabed, Beware Reef is an isolated rock located where colder southern currents meet warm northern currents, providing an environment for a diverse range of marine flora and fauna. The exposed rock provides a resting place for Australian Fur Seals whilst below the surface Bull Kelp and meadows of green and red seaweeds provide a haven for a variety of marine creatures and a resting place for a shipwreck.

  • 5 km south east of Cape Conran.

  • Access is by water with the nearest boat ramp at West Cape.
