East Gippsland's Parks & Reserves

East Gippsland's diverse parks and reserves not only contribute to the total Australian National Reserve System but also to a global conservation network with areas designated as Ramsar wetlands and Biosphere Reserves. East Gippsland's extensive system of parks and reserves were established from the 1850s onwards, with large areas of native vegetation in the mountainous areas to the north and east and significant coastal areas of East Gippsland.
