Black Snake Creek Historic Area

The Black Snake reef was worked by the Kong Meng Company which was formed in 1867 and worked the reef until 1869. Mines worked in this area include, Jacks Reef, Bootlace Reef, Golden Butterfly, Crinoline Reef, Captain Cook, The Granites and the Black Snake Creek.
