The best route to take is to exit Bairnsdale via Wy Yung and take the Calulu Road. There are a few locations on the drive where you may wish to stop for the views and this direction of travel puts one on the correct side of the road to pull up safely and take in the sights. Pack a picnic lunch and check out the Den of Nargun and the  Mitchell River National Park or keeping to the River Flats Drive, Amy Shand Park in Lindenow is an excellent location for a break or a quiet picnic. Take in some of the Mitchell River National Park

Turn right onto Weir Lane and check out the Old Weir Site.

Turn right into Friday Creek Road and make your way up to the Den of Nargun Picnic Area.
