Responsible Dog Ownership Program

Bairnsdale and District Dog Obedience Club

The Responsible Dog Ownership Program is run by the Bairnsdale and District Dog Obedience Club in conjunction with the East Gippsland Shire Council to encourage people to train their dogs and to be responsible owners.  As a community service, the course is run by the Bairnsdale and District Dog Obedience Club and the East Gippsland Shire Council free of charge.

  • Course Details
    • Commencing at the start of each school term, four 8 week courses are held each year. Courses are held on Saturday mornings commencing at 9.00am at the Lucknow Oval, Great Alpine Road, Lucknow. Bookings are essential.

  • Cost
    • The course is free and includes East Gippsland Shire rebates on dog registration for successful completion of the programme.

  • Participant Requirements
    • Participating dogs need to be fully vaccinated and registered. Vaccination certificate and Council registration details need to be produced on enrolment.

  •  Graduation
    • Presentation of a Proficiency Certificate for successful completion of the programme.
