McMillan Strait, Raymond Island, situated in
the Gippsland Lakes in East Gippsland, is accessible only by water. The
Raymond Island Ferry
operates a regular service between
Paynesville and Raymond
Island.
Raymond Island offers a number of vehicle / walking tracks that lead through
bushland to a number of shoreline locations. A casual 10 min walk east from the
Raymond Island Ferry and
Raymond Island Park along 7th Parade will
lead to the
Raymond Island Reserve
where the resident population of koalas and a range of other wildlife can
be observed.
