Lindenow

Rural Living Overlooking Mitchell River Flats

A 40 000 acre grazing run known as Lindenow was granted to J Loughnan in 1842. Agricultural activities since have included beef, sheep, dairying and pigs, cropping of maize, hops and sugar beet. Commercial vegetable production, the principal economic use of the flats today, began in 1960. Other current activities on the river flats and adjacent hill country include dairying, beef, sheep and fodder conservation.
