Genoa
With
the distinction of being the last township on the
Princes Highway before New South Wales, Genoa is a small village
located in Far East Gippsland on the
Genoa
River at the intersection of
Princes Highway and
Mallacoota Road. Genoa came to prominence in
the 1970's when some tracks of amphibian mammals
dating back 350 million years were found in the Genoa River Gorge.
These tracks are some of the earliest evidence of mammals on earth.
