    • Benambra was one of the first regions of Victoria to be settled by Europeans during the period of 1834-1836. In search of new grazing opportunities from Monaro in New South Wales.

    • Discovery of suitable grazing areas in the high country and alpine area encouraged others to move south and in 1835 the first cattle runs in the Benambra area were established
